Walter Camp Award
The Walter Camp Player of the Year Award is given annually to the collegiate American football Player of the Year, as decided by a group of National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I-A head coaches and sports information directors under the auspices of the Walter Camp Football Foundation; the award is named for Walter Camp, a progenitor of the sport. In 2009, University of Texas quarterback Colt McCoy won his second consecutive Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, joining O.J. Simpson and Archie Griffin as the only players to ever win this award twice.
